  • Going camping/wakeboarding for a week!

Up at Lake Naciamento. Gonna be up there Monday and leave Friday afternoon. My buddy has a 2002 Tige 22' ski boat. Nice!

Any TL guys (Crashtd?) that want to come up for a day, get a ride in and some wakeboard sessions PM me. Pretty crazy I suppose, but most really fun things in life are

              Sony is a brand name.
3.2 MP is 3.2 mega pixel. This is the resolution or picture quality. 3.2 is good for producing photo quality 4x6 pics.
128 meg of memory means that he can take about 120 to 130 pictures at top resolution.

"I'm not afraid to use it" means he'll be posting pictures like a fiend when he comes back.

Yeah, still no good What in THE HELL is a pixel?

Let's go at this from another direction - What should I buy? What should I look for in one of these things? How much is it gonna cost me? Will a short bus rider like myself be able to work it?

When you break an image down into all the little colored dots that make up the image... those are pixels. Its good to have a bunch of em. 3 to 4 mega pixel cameras are pretty common these days, and with one of em, you won't need a film camera again (unless you're really serious about photography). Much more than that (in my opinion) is unneccessary spending as you'll not notice the difference.

Also look at the zoom. The bility to make far off things look closer. Optical is better than digital. I seldom if ever use my digital zoom, but use the optical zoom all the time.

Also look at memory. It's nice to have removeable memory. That way you can take a bunch of pictures and don't have to head back to the computer to upload the images. If you have a couple memory sticks, you swap in a new one, and take more pics.

I spent close to $500 on my camera. It's a Hewlett Packard 4.2 Mega Pixel with 8x optical zoom.

You can find good cameras for a lot less.

If you're looking to buy a digital cam, look at www.epinions.com. Actually, if buying almost anything. A whole site of reader reviews on almost any product...from motorcycles to vibrators to books to pet supplies.
