  • Helmet Smell.

What is a good way to clean an inside of a Helmet? Mine has a slight funk to it. I hear Shampoo is a good way. How long will it take to dry out?

    :dunno

      Febreeze.
Also, when it is funky and will be sitting for a while, I put a dryer ?sheet or two in the helmet. Only masks the smell, but is better than sweat.

        What kind of helmet?

Check to see if it has a removable liner and just remove it and wash it.

febreeze aint' for lids. heard a guy had his hair falling out cause he used that stuff. stopped using it and started growing back his hair.

use a dryer sheet. otherwise use a bandana to keep some of the sweat off the lid.

maybe he was pouring it in rather than spritzin' it who knows. or spraying it in before he rode everyday.

but i know i don't need it cause my lid smells like a freakin' bed o roses not that anyone would wear it and find out

                    Re: Helmet Smell.

Shampoo may be the best way to keep it from getting funky. But you need to use it on your head.

                    sorry, couldn't help myself.

You dont really believe that right... Remember when febreeze first came out they said it would kill your pets.....I tried and the bastards are still alive!

Just another tip for keeping a nice fragrant helmet: Do not store your gloves inside your helmet - especially after you get done riding!

                            Febreeze works.

I also take mine to the shower about once a year. A little shampoo and it's good as new.

You could pee in it and then set it out to dry. You will no longer have trouble with that sweaty smell.

                              Use Febreeze.
