  • My buddy claims his RC51 is faster and lighter then my TLR?

Is it true the RC51 is faster and lighter then the TLR?
I know the RC51 did amazing on the track where the TLR was never a famous track bike but that maybe because Honda invested more money in RC51 project.

Anyway, let me know what You guys think.

Just from factory posted stats I would say that it is correct. But he also paid more for his RC. After you put in the same amount of money they should be equal if not put the TLR ahead of the RC.

What he said, and I think that the TLR is better in the looks department.

Is this an SP1 or SP2? I think the SP1's were pretty equivalent, while the SP2's reduced the weight a little bit (10 lbs or so?). The only real way to tell is to hit the twisties! Then you'll see who's fastest!

And the TLR still looks a lot better!

The RC is lighter than the TL but the power is about the same, Bone stock the RC feels to me faster than the TLR partly due to the suspention and how much more speed you can carry through the turns due to it not wallowing cause of the Rotery Dampner.

Lighter, faster, blah-blah.. Can he Flick it? IF not then it don't matter.. Send my sorry slow butt out to Willow on an old FZR600 and he can tell me how much better his RC is compared to that.. From the outside of turn 5.

Lighter? Stock for stock. Probably a little. Faster? Hmmm. Faster top speed? Accelleration? Carrying corner speed? I think he needs to be a bit more specific there.

The one thing the TLR has all over the Arsey Fitty One though is looks. The RC just looks like ass.

From what I've heard the RC51's you can buy only resemble the track going bikes. Different suspension, different radiators etc...

sp1 first year production,sp2 seocund year production lighter and a bit more faster with a higher top speed ,but thats all on paper.the most ive seen an push out on the rear is 127 with some mods.as for top speed my friend says hes done 175mph but i take it that hes speedo was reading wrong or he was bullschittin.all in all there about in the same league, like some one stated with the money save you can get an aftermarket shock redo the forks a nice remap and some exhaust and your up there.

I agree with what all have said - I have had the chance to ride both and the speed seems better on the RC due to weight and as mentioned above thru the twisties due to the rotary THANG we gots goin on - I also agree with the one who said it is also rider based - Hell, I could saddle up a 998r and have my buddy woop up on me in the twisties on his BMW GS - He is one hellovah ridah!

Bout the rider as much as bout the bike!
