Riding with leaking fork seals?
The seals are leaking a good amount. I have no idea how much fluid may be left. Im curious if it is ok to ride the bike if the fluid is really low or gone? Im only thinking about riding it about 20 miles to the performance shop to be repaired.

Re: Riding with leaking fork seals?
it wont hurt anything,as long as they havent gone squirrly springy on you ,if you are still riding it it must feel relatively safe yet eh ? i had some minor leaking seals on 2 ocasions,i would just cut and wrap a thin strip of rag and wrap it around and tie it at the slider to soak up the oil, totally ghetto but it worked for a long time till i got around to the fix.be sure and have whoever does the job check very closely on the chrome of the slider for pitting.that was my problem and it dont take a very big pit to cut the seal eventually.i used a strong magnifier on the leaking seal to see the damageLast edited by tillerdog; 07-01-2010, 02:00 PM.Once I thought I was WRONG but then I realized I was jus' MISTAKEN! -

^^^ it won't hurt anything? Oil is probably spewing all over the brake pads....fix it asap...it's a no brainer!
