the facts on TLS vs TLR bolt on cans
Sorry guys, I've searched and keep finding contradictory info on using TLS bolt ons on the TLR. All over the web people disagree. I've seen them for sale and the seller states "will not fit TLR's" and visa versa. Please finish this dead horse once and for all. PS: I know the SV1000 swap is goodLast edited by gsxr1k; 07-14-2010, 10:17 PM.Tags: None -
Re: the facts on TLS vs TLR bolt on cans
Aftermarket bolt on's will fit.
OEM bolt on's have the mounting tags welded in different positions between the S & R. (They will bolt on, but not bolt to the hanger / mount without modding)."I spent most of my money on Scotch, women and cigarettes. The rest I just wasted" -
Re: the facts on TLS vs TLR bolt on cans
But if you buy a 2nd hand set of aftermarket cans and use them on the other bike, the spot where the hanger band was might be visible because it will sit in a different position on the other bike.
An aluminium can might have wear and scratch marks where gravel and grit etc has got under the band.
A carbon can might have the wear marks as well as a newer looking un-faded by sunlight band left behind etc.
The cans will bolt on, the band sits in a different position. (And of course the OEM can have the attachment point welded on)."I spent most of my money on Scotch, women and cigarettes. The rest I just wasted"Comment
