  • Urgent help needed with radiator.

Hey guys.. I am in so cal right now and i shredded my upper radiator. Does anyone on this coast have a replacement they would sell me plus ship it off expidited to me a.s.a.p? I am taking the bike on a ride from san diego to phoenix next thursday so I need to get the bastard replaced. Let me know.

    PM or 602-290-0489

If anyone is curious.. the horn bolt fell off and during a long ride the loose and flopping around horn turned the radiator into swiss.

for an upper? it looks like it would fit a lower, but not an upper.

On ebay once in a while I have seen Delcevic (sp) selling upper radiators. I think it was around $200.

yea the yamaha rad fits the upper. its what im running right now its a supper tight fit but it works perfectly. in a tight pinch grab the rad and some lube.lol the only prob i had was the bottom left of the rad. it has an extra down tube but all ya have to do is plug it up and conect it normally.

Where are you exactly, and exactly what do you need? TLR ot TLS, uppper or lower? I'm north in Long Beach but my ex drives to San Diego most weekdays. I have a buch of radiators. I probalby have a slightly tweeked TLR upper that works and doesn't leak, I was giong to have Myler's straighten it. Yes, the Delkovic (spelling) weems to be the original manufacturer of TL radiators and wheels, and cost is around half-price from them instead of with Suzuki's markup. You can also get your shredded one repaired by Myler's with pretty quick turn-around.

Fixing it just requires some skill with a TIG.

I have one that looks pretty good, one ring mount is a bit out of place (bottom non-tube plate it attaches to could be easily straightend a bit) but works as-is. Looks a smidgen crooked (a bit rhombus, not twisted at all), barely noticeable, might have been made that way. I've got $70 into it. It actually looks pretty good. My ex could bring it down to San Diego Tuesday. I can take pics if you want. Its definitely nice enough to leave on.

Here's some other excellent deals, new ones for $170 and $215, ebay items 290450468535 and 300446804162 interesting that somebody in China ($30 shipping) says they actually MAKE them and under-bid Delkevic, makes me think Delkevic buys from China and sells to Suzuki, and all exclusive deals to distribute to the public only via Suzuki expired. A little free enterprise and prices plummet.

Sounds good, I am going to get yours and repair mine through a shop for a spare. Thanks! Damn TLR has been a maintenance nightmare the last month. First the fuel pump gasket and now this. Hopefully should be smooth sailing for awhile.

When you get yours repaired, Mylers does exceptional work on motorcycle radiators.

I am just going to braze it myself. Easy to do.

I've never heard of "brazing" aluminum. TIG. MIG is not good for such intricate work. There are weird rods for working aluminum with a torch, almost like soldering, but I've never tried them and I dont' htink they're as strong as TIG. But this doesn't have to be really strong, just really completely sealed.
