As I approach 50, I'm finding that my choice of ride becomes more limited

I have a rapidly worsening arthritic hip, and cannot safely push my R1150 RT around - it has to go.
The TLR is painful after an hour, and I have bought a set of Convertibars to move my body back and up 2" - 3".
I have two questions :
1, Does the TLR mirror frame provide essential support to the upper fairing ?
...Assuming that mirrors are relocated, can it be removed without affecting the high speed strength of the upper fairing.
2, Do any UK chums have a tatty but complete TLR upper fairing in need of TLC.
...I will need to cut it back significantly, if the front mounting lugs are repairable, that will be fine.
eBayers are asking £100 quid, which I just cannot afford !
Any useful comments will be very welcome.
