  • Please help (wont start) In Cali. Will Pay Someone for help

i have been through all the threads..

I washed my bike did my plugs changed my oil and bike wont start.. Dont know if something got wet.

    Fuel Pump Wont Come On.......
Put in dealer mode and I get c-41
Replaced relay: same deal, but relay does click once and then after a few seconds clicks again.
I jumped the relay with a jumper wire and the fuel pump does come on..The relay wasnt a OEM one I did a search on the board and got one from AUTOZONE.

I did mess with the tilt sensor before i tried starting it the first time, because the rubber that holds it broke. I thought i put it in there the right way though. Can some one send me a picture of it in and what direction it goes in... I dont think this is it, but you never know.

wires/plug on the right, visible screws/nut at the bottom. Had a similar problem had loose connection in harness, I ve read that some guys put silicone or something like in the switch so the internals dont move.Where in California??

So I went and got the right relay from Autozone. I plugged it in and no work!!!! Its not even making the the 2 clicking noises like before. So I tried the other relays no clicking at all.

Took the Tip Sensor apart just to check and it was fine...

So I figured what the hell, pulled the fuel pump relay out and stuck a jumper wire in it so the fuel pump would run and tried to start it.. Started on the first try like always... Shut it down right away...

          Im lost now............ Anyone help...

If the ECU was bad the bike wouldnt run at all right?

You heard clicking from the relay initially. So then, that circuit is working...at least part of the time. You may have a bad (intermittant) connection from the power side (fuse box) to the FP relay - or the control signal - or ground.

The ECU is likely not your problem.

Since you can jumper the FP and make it run, that circuit is probably OK, but you cannot rule out an intermittent connection there just yet. Maybe the angle you held the connector at allowed it to make a connection. Verify continuity through the fuel pump windings with an ohm meter while moving the FP connector and wires at different angles.

Since you heard the FP relay click initially and now you don't (with a new relay) it could also be a bad connection on the wire coming from the ECU to the FP relay that tells it to activate when you "key on." If that signal or +V power, or ground is not at the relay, you will not hear any clicking from the relay. Focus on this circuit first. Once you have verified it, you can move on to another area. What you find in this test will tell you which way to go.

If I'm reading the schematics correctly, these are the wires at the fuel pump relay connector.

Yellow with Blue tracer = Control signal from ECU (goes low to activate the relay)
Orange with Blue tracer = +V Power from fuse box.
Yellow with Red tracer = Power "relayed" to the Fuel Pump motor.
Orange with White tracer = Power to drive the FP relay coil (via the Side Stand Relay and the Engine Stop Switch).

are you talking about the fuse box in the right side of the cowl in the front of the bike

I checked for breaks in the wiring with a FLUKE volt meter and they checked out fine.. My next question is where do I go from here?
This is so frustrating.. I wish I knew someone close so we could test some parts.. Even if I have to drive a bit I will

It is very possible that it's the battery. Enough voltage to turn on the ECU, not enough to current to sustain the voltage when cranking. Could also be starter relay or starter. What happens if you jumper direclty to the starter? What happens when you jumper to the stater relay?
It's about control skill; this is a motorized dance for joy and not Russian roulette.
