  • The new guy...

Hey everyone, just joined this site. I was on the zone for a few months and have been meaning to join this one also. Well the crash of 2010 has pushed me I guess.....

97s Green, rs3 pipes, lower fairing(I keep taking it off then putting it back on)
new sprockets and chain, have done the thermo mod.

Will be doing the + mod/charging and grounding mods over the winter,

looking at the CF hugger group buy, and the clear clutch cover also, maybe a CF front fender.

any other items/things that can be recommended to do over the winter will be reviewed carefully!!! hahaha

this is very addicting...I may need therapy

        Howdy and welcome.

The grounding mod will do nothing so save your time. If you really want to help grounding take the loom apart and fix the poorly crimped grounds that are in it.

I was replacing an S I sold 8 years ago... sorry I ever sold it!! an R was never an option. Plus I'm 46 and I feel a bit out of place on an R, well that's what I tell my 26 year old girlfriend anyways.

Rob thanks for the help I knew I could do it. I still juggle as long as the claws are gone. It's always been a side job!! The pay is not so good. go figure?

Jeff, by loom you mean the whole harness? I have heard the grounds are a bit bad to say the least.

Yep, it's a bit of project but hey, winter is coming. There were some pictures of the loom uncovered around here somewhere that shows how poorly crimped the ground connections are. I'm too lazy to go look for them so you'll have to do it yourself if you want to see. Before I sold my R last November (and I'm 52 and looked just fine on it thank you very much ) my plan was to buy a harness, dissect it and add all the mods it needed and that I'd done already and then install it in place of the original.
