  • brake line adapter for radial caliper

I lost some threads on the zone...maybe you can help...

I need an adapter for my radial front brake caliper (from a GSXR) to connect my braid-covered front lines, unless I buy new lines.

I vaguely recall seeing a long rectangular block adapter somewhere, maybe eBay, for just this purpose. My new clip-on bars are longer (to accomodate the thumb brake master) so that bit of added lenght might be perfect too.

I also need a new banjo bolt, if anyone knows the correct thread pitch etc. I'd appreciate it.

And if anyone knows where to get a decent pressure switch for the rear brake line, preferably one that doesn't add travel or mush to the line, that would be great. Some really ruin the feel, and I can't afford any more lever travel.

Any good advice would be appreciated on where to get good really skinny (is that DASH-2 or DASH-3) custom lines (preferably with a clear vinyl cover so they don't saw thru things) made custom-length to go from my thumb brake master on the bars to the rear caliper. Last time many years ago I had them made by "Street and Competition" and they worked great but they were some kind of screw-on ends I was afraid of rather than classy permanent swaged-on ends with swivels.

I need a single-banjo bolt for my rear caliper, which is actually the radial caliper off of a GSXR 1000.

    HEL make a radial adapter

I measured my TLR m/c and found the threads to be 1.25,but others are sure it is 1.0
Make of that what you will.
    The GSXR stuff is 1.0
I'll see if I can't find a link for the adapter

Excellent link! That's what I need, and that's an acceptable price too.

They supply a single 1.25 for into the radial master and double 1.25 for double down-lines on the adapter, so it sounds like they're betting you have it backwards. Regardless, I will find usable bolts easier than the adapter, so thank you very much!

Excellent link! They also have a decent brake light pressure switch built into a banjo bolt! That is really convenient and better than I'd hoped for! Acceptable price again too.

Yes; nice stainless swaged-on ends that swivel and covered with braid and vinyl. The only problem is they don't do the thinner DASH-2. I really like that the dash-2 lines expand less and give a noticeably better feel IMHO. They have a nice choice of colored vinyl covers. Nice stainless banjo bolts, but none with bleeders and none to fit thinner DASH-2 banjos.

I did order the radial adapter, three fluid reservours, some Brembo hose for the reservours, and a brake light pressure switch mounted in a banjo bolt.

I wonder whether my old hydraulic clutch line will reach with my longer clip-ons I guess there's only one way to find out. Using another one of the those raidal adapters might be a cheap way to extend the line 1 inch. I wish I could afford to shop for a really nice radial clutch master with a variable-ratio or dual-ratio lever feature.

Yes...Brembo makes several different nice radial masters in various bores, cast, billet, ...and an adjustable-ratio master...

To fit the adaptor to your GSXR radial master, you'll have to cut off the line locator pins as they are in the way. Honda radial. This adaptor goes straight on with no mods.

I know this thread is old, but just wanted to say thanks to Steve for posting this link. I just wasted an hour searching the web for some kind of an adaptor, and LoNbehold its right here on the first search on my lovely Planet.
