Lowering question
So i bought the lowering link from TLlowering on EBay. And was wondering how much I can drop the front with out any modification? I also heard if you lower it too much you and hit something like the radiator cover? Any suggestions on how low I can get the front, the idea would be to have the bike look even. Any help appreciated. Thanks!Tags: None -
Re: Lowering question
If you want to keep the stock front damper mount location you can only drop the forks through the triple about 22-24mm. Any higher and the steering damper will hit it. (24mm is cutting it very close)
I have had mine in several positions and have settled on 19mm higher through the triple (lowers the front of course) and have liked it a lot. I have the ride heigh adjuster (used for lowering) the back about 1" too.sigpic -
Re: Lowering question
What if you just have the lowering link to the lowest setting and leave the front alone. Would that be funky? Would that hurt anything?2001 TLR

Re: Lowering question
I lowered mine using same lowering link on my TLR....used rear in lowest position and slide tubes thru the triple in front....had to trim an inch off the dampner so it didn't score top of the left fork tube cap.....of course where I trimmed off the dampner rod I beveled the end of it as well so it looks factory as well....mine is dropped pretty good and I have never hit the radiator at all....even in my accident I grabbed a fist full of front brake at 30 mph and still never hit......however lowering the rear that much caused my real CF hugger that I had on the bike ( NOT THE BRAND NEW IP PAUL ONE I HAVE NOW)....the old one I have, caused the hugger to ride up into the tail and crack the hugger....so I think I am going to raise it back up now that I am finally getting around to the new paint and all the Carbon Fiber parts I purchased from Paul......Lord knows I want no damage to the new booty!Comment

Re: Lowering question
you can but not quite sure what it would look like with the rear sagging...I wanted to lower front and rear together to keep the bike level to the groundComment
