    Re: HELP: What part number

So I got the mystery resolved:

Apparently the part 99103-11139 is for a pre-recall tank and only fits "defective" tanks (even has different bolt spacing).

The correct part is: 44590-02840 as stated by Steve and patch. Thanks all y'all.

Now to order the friggin' thang.

True, true. Do NOT over tighten! That hole will only get deeper.

Don't reuse your old one with sealant. Do it properly and replace it. It will come with the new bolts too. Follow the manual for tightening sequence and trorge spec. Do not over tighten them, or it will leak.

The different tank numbers are for the different paint schemes.

    Re: HELP: What part number

Thank you. Original gasket is long gone, replaced by the previous owner with some ghetto petroleum based wannabe gasket that has stretched and is currently useless.

Ron Ayers is cheaper for the same part number and it also lists parts by Manufacturer rather than by Vendor which instills a perceived sense of authenticity to my purchase consideration.

just re-use your old one with a touch of sealant (recommended for use with petroleum products) each side of the gasket.

    Use BikeBandit.com
    12: PACKING SET,FUE 1083505(499736-001) $33.62

Insert the part number into BB and see what happens Sometimes it helps to cross-reference the two sites sometimes if you're unsure. I use BB as I find it much more user friendly.

    No Parts Found.

Either you have the wrong part number or you are worrying about nothing. It is quite common to see one part fit many models, unless you are trying to replace the exact model tank (which you are not) it is a pointless exercise worrying about things that do not matter.

You have the correct part number for the product you seek. Pick a vendor and complete the purchase. Read the manual for the torque sequence and settings if you have not already.

    HELP: What part number???

I need help. I am trying to obtain a FUEL PUMP GASKET for a 2000 TL1000R.

When checking Ron Ayers where is it used feature for PART NUMBER 44590-02840 I get a listing with 7 different tank models for my bike. I know it is irrelevant and that the same part number fits all the tanks but, heck, What model tank do I have?

The other problem is that I am also looking at this PART NUMBER: 99103-11139 which reads: "TL1000RW GASKET" and nothing more...

There is a 10 dollar difference between both part numbers. Does anyone know if one fits the other? If it is a revised model gasket? The meaning of this?

Any clarification by the qualified candidate is appreciated.

    Thank you.
