  • The stumbles...new guy dummy!

OK... since i've only had this bike a week i'm starting to see what everyone has been talkin' about. My 2001 tls is stumbling around 3500 rpm and seems to do so in the first three gears. Its really annoying since 3500-4000 rpm is where i cruise. How do i remedy this? Is the power commander my fix? or the TRE mod? or both?
The bike is stock (so far) and only 300 miles...... what do i do?

C'mon now, i'm new at this so let me down easy

    thanx,

      300 miles on a 2001?

Damn I will hit 4k in the morning.

      Get a TRE first, it's only 25$ for a plug in type:dunno

Or listen to MT and check the other thread

so i'll look into the TRE. Where should i look for a purchase, any suggestions? Then what, try it and it may solve my problem, or is the power commander a necessary purchase too? I'm sure i'll be replacing the pipes at some point, so should i concider the PCII purchase now also?

                        it helped!!!!!

i tried the TPS adjusted (per many of your recomendations) and i think it really helped! I'm still gunna look into the TRE mod though. What do you all suggest. I found the Ivans unit for 80 bucks and Motorcycle Radar has an ATRE for 100.00(and its adjustable(?)). Are there any others to look for? What are your experiances with these things?
                        thanx

...again, THANX to all those who hooked me up with the info on the TPS!!!!!!!!!

solder in a resister for a dollar. The ecu restricts power in the first 4 gears by looking at different resister values from the gear shifter. Solder in a resister so the ECU thinks its in high gear all the time about a buck and some electrical tape.

Jeff ?? has a switchable TRE pretty cheap, I don't have a link to his page, -0synge0- had some plugs for sale and think will knock a TRE up for you real cheap (100% better option than the IVAN's)

                            The ATRE is the ulimate!

Own a soldering iron? Try my suggestion for a cheap TRE http://home.iprimus.com.au/stevebm/ssatre.html
