Thinking about a RaceTail...

I might be getting a 1-Peice Race Tail and was thinking about shaving some of that unecessary aluminum off in the back. Where can I get some of those Carbon EXhaust hangers that go where the rear pegs used to mount. I have never had a passenger on my bike nor do I ever really keep anything in the tail so I think the time has come to shave off a few more pounds. Also does anyone know where I can get a good deal on a shark skinz tail, or chettah Used would be fine especially since I am planning on a new paint scheme also..

Marc, What color do you think you will be going with? I have been back and forth on which color to paint mine this winter. I have to keep a tail with a seat cause my wife likes to go riding with me sometimes. As soon as I get her a bike I can cut up the subframe and go with a 1 piece tail also.

You can order the akro ones for around 100 or you can go with hermit dragon. I personally would get some sheet metal and make my own hanger, cheapest way to go. The tail You can get bodywork cheap but at the same time you don't want cheap quality. Skinz are to much if you ask me. I use sebimoto everything and have never had a problem. Hot bodies is pretty good stuff too. AK is probably your best bang for your buck

I have no friggin Clue to be honest with you. I like the existing pattern but I have seen some stuff that Jawanza has done at www.outerextremes.com and I am tempted to strip her down and take the stuff over to him. I was thinking of Red where all of the yellow is now and a Black Tail with the hugger and Rims Black as well. I want it to be different. Maybe Kawasaki Green and Black.. Talk about freaking people out. I love that Lime Green Color.. When the time comes I may post a poll and let the board members decide..

Yes I think its worth it. I plan on repainting the bike and slimming it down a bit. Bad Time working on a bike is better than a good day at real work anyway..

It you really want to lighten it get a full set of plastics from AK that will shave like 15 to 20 lbs.

We are in escrow on a house in Lawrenceville so Ill be out there in the next few months then we are riding!
