  • GPS voltages?

Has anyone mapped out the voltages for each gear from the gear position sensor? I want to build a simple LED gear indicator, and in order to do so I'll have to know the voltage that the GPS gives in each gear. I'd measure it myself but I'm at work now, and someone MUST have already measured this! :-)

    Thanks in advance!

This is what I have (didn't measure it, found it on the net)

    Gear - Voltage - R to Gnd

    1----- 1.8 ----- 560
    2----- 2.26 ----- 830
    3----- 2.99 ----- 1500
    4----- 3.68 ----- 2700
    5----- 4.38 ----- 6800
    6----- 4.7 ----- 15000

      GPS voltages

Thanks dude. I'm actually measuring it right now, but that seems to line up pretty perfectly. I'm also going to take off my TRE, so I'll report on that later. (how stock w/ TRE compares to dialed-in TPS without TRE)

Thanks a ton - this place rocks.

Check back on the EZ board too, I found some links on DIY gear indicators for Suzuki's using GPS's

          on another note, slightly related
does anyone know what hardware there is for the GPS in the TLR?? i cant find it on the fiche, what does it use totell it what gear its in??

need some ideas for a project im working on

          cheers

based on us soldering in a resister for the tre mod it uses different resister values to tell what gear its in.

What do you mean? The gearbox switches in a resistor, and the ECU looks at that resistor to tell what gear it is in.

yeah i understand that bit, i wanna understand how the gearbox switches the resistors

Behind the clutch is a sealed switch, it is connected to the end of the shifter drum, as the drum rotates, so does the switch and switches the different resistances in and out and the neutral light in neutral.

It's basically a 7 position rotary switch, you know, like the fan switch in your car (which is only 3 or 4 position).

potentiometer or more like a switch??

anyone happen to have any pics of the connection between the shift drum and said switch??

Switch! Has set resistance values in it.

I'll see what I can dig up..

                          cheers

Best I can do so far, go to the online fiche on this site, and look under the shifter page or something close, it was #34 in the TLS manual on the shifter page. Should have looked at the TLR manual hey?
