New Rider, big bore kit questions
Well, not new to riding, just new to twins!
I'm in the process of purchasing my winter time project for this year..I've gotta get some time off to drive to alabama to pick it up, but its a 98 TLS. Kind of hand me down project between friends I think..
The guy i'm buyin it from said the engine is locked up..said when he got it, it would turn over but not start..now it wont turn over. he drained the oil out for some reason and he thinks the seals have expanded and seized.. not sure if that can really happen..
In any case, i'm going to have the engine rebuilt, regardless..
I'm trying to find some information on big bore kits for the TLS..as far as what to expect, where to find them, all that good stuff..
how accepting are twins to big bore kits?
the bike has a full akro system on it right now. I'd like to invest some big coin into the engine for its rebuilt, kind of a "do it right, do it once, be happy" kind of thing.. not gonna cut any corners with the engine.
Cosmeticly the bike needs a few things, but i'm more concerned about the engine for right now..
can anyone direct me to a thread with big bore ideas or reviews?
This board is great, SBN and CF don't have a very big TLS/TLR following I've noticed!
