I just had a go at setting it as per Garys instructions, and at 1200 rpm the indicator is at the bottom (not middle) and at 1400 its at the middle (not top). By turning the idle adjust I could not make it go to the top mark, even by 3500. What am I doing wrong??

I may have mis-understood your post, but did you adjust the TPS itself, located on the throttle body?

Not yet, just checking so far. It's just that the "Start" condition wasn't what it should be according to Gary... I will have a proper go on Thursday, the bike runs OK, doing a trackday tomorrow

Sounds like a bit of counter clockwise rotation of the TPS is in order.

Leave the screws semi somewhat tight and tap it with your screwdriver handle to set. It is excruciatingly sensitive.
