  • What'd you pay for a new 2002 TLR?

I know of a dealer with 2 TLRs sitting there and they want to get rid of them, but there haven't been any takers.

What's a good price to offer in No. CA.?

What was the retail at that time? I know there is a huge mark up on the GSXR, from like 8,200 to 10,400. I would offer at least 1500 under retail. There loosing about $300 a year just paying taxes on it.

Suzukicycles.com says a '02 TLR MSRP is $9600. I'm thinking of offering $6500 to see what they say.

I just bought a new 2002 a couple of months ago for $7900 before tax. There is also another dealer close by with two left and they want $7999 plus tax. I believe they have one of each color. Hope this helps.

Cost on the TLR is about 8200 in Northern Ca. Let me know where you are and I can get you one at $200 over cost.

I'd go in 7,500 cash and see what they will do. It is always worth a shot. Shows them you have the money, and you aren't just jerking them around

I actually saw the cost sheet on my bike. It was a little over $8000. They accidentally had it marked at $7200 on the floor and when I went in with money in hand to buy it they realized they had it marked wrong. Really pissed me off but they wound up selling it to me at $200 under their cost and they through in a free tank bag. Oh well I guess it all worked out in the end.

Let's not all forget that the Stealer has "Dealer Holdback" written into the MSRP. Also, they may have factory "rebate" money to help them with old units. I personally have seen '02s online for $7500.00 before tax. I would walk in there and say: "I can get this bike online from an out-of-state Dealer. It will cost me $460.00 to ship it to me and I don't have to pay sales tax for out of state. Sell me yours for $7900.00 OTD and we are both happy." Or you could say you've seen it for 7200.00
