What's up everyone....I've been on the forum for a while but never posted anything. Anyway, I need a new set of tires and I'm trying to decide between the M-1's and the 208's. I'm currently running M-1's. Thanks....

between those options M1, if your not pushing them to max try a set of Diablos or BT010.

no on the d207rr. wear out waayy too fast. also, the mi is by far a superior tire to diablos. as far as the 010's, i dunno, but i doubt tthey are as good as M1's. got 4k on mine and they should go 5k in the back and 10k up front. only had them slip 2 times, and i was really pushin it. at this point my stock suspension is holding me back...

Well my M1s didn't last as much as I thought (2700 Miles) but they're sticky as hell (race compound).

I have been a big fan of Metzeler for a long time, I then went sticky and tried the Rennsport medium and they lasted 1000 miles and they were wasted all around. ALTHOUGH THEY HANDLED AWESOME!!! i cant keep up a habbit like that and stay married. Anyway I tried a set of Dunlop D207GP on my ZX7 and they were awesome and lasted approx 2800 miles. Finally I got this awesome fat bike called the TL1000R . The 207 still rocks and I will never go back to metzeler.

that is what I say and I hope it helps you.

OH yeah the M1 is heavy!

and the new 208 has longer life supposedly and better weight!!
                I'm so slow I think I'm first!!!!!!!

I'd have to put in a vote for the Dunlop 207RR or the new 208GP. They seem to last pretty well and grip well. I have 207RR's on my GSXR and they have done 5k and 3 track days and still plenty of life in them yet!

                    What's wrong with Diablo's?

I just had them fitted to my TLR 0- thinking of pilot race, m1 or diablo corsa's next time round
Don't cha know the Yellow one's are fastest!

the diablos are aslippery tire and dont last long. other than that they are fine. take too long to warn up. oh yeah, 207s and 208s suck badly compared to the m1 sportecs. yes they last a while, but do you like to have your bike sliding under you all the time? i dont. i will take my m1s and keep my bike shiney thankyou.

dunlops historically will slide sooner but they slide slower, meaning there is a warning. i noticed the pirellis never gave a warning. when they did slide it felt like the bike was going down, not controlled like the dunlops.

it really depends on your riding style and what you are used to. the only time i ever get a tire to slide is at the track anyway. even riding hard up in the canyons the dunlops dont slide.

I was trying to throw a couple other compound types out there other than a supersoft street tire. I pushed my BT010 just as hard as the guys were running M1's 12ss 207rr 208gp rennsports BT001 with no issues. They are a very capable "STREET" tire.

No love for the Pilots here?

I'm currently trying to decide on tires too, I have Pilot sports on right now, but debating on weither or not to go with the M1's, or the 208's, or the Pilots......

Judging from other riders that ride like I do around me, the new 208's are were its at.

ummm, you dont listen too well. those onelaps are really a crappy tire. i dont know why anyone would run them. even ona 600 they slide, and i guess that s a little more bearable than on a TL. but geez, those dunlops are never ever ever going onn my tl. its way too nice to see rashed up.
