    Here's one for the collective to take a look at.

    I checked valve clearances at 24,500kms and they were within spec. No problem. Just got in from the garage where I finished the second check at ~51,000kms. Ho-Lee-Crap. They *barely* moved! Still in spec!

    Here's what I've got"

    Intake Exhaust
    24,500kms FRONT
    L.127mm R.127mm L.203mm R.254mm
    51,000kms FRONT
    L.127mm R.178mm(?) L.203mm R.245mm


    Intake Exhaust
    24,500kms REAR
    L.153mm R.127mm L.203mm R.203mm
    51,000kms REAR
    L.153mm R.127mm L.203mm R.203mm

    Spec: In - .10mm to .20mm
    Ex - .20mm to .30mm

    So, from that, you see that everything is within spec, although on the tight side of things (which is good for power). But the most interesting part (for me, anyway) is that this damn thing barely moved since the last adjustment. Is this par for the course for other TLs out there? And I figure I'll just leave them the way they are again...

    On another note, I'm hoping that the front right intake difference (loosening?) is just a bad measurement on my part. I'll keep an eye on it though - coule it be carbon deposits on the valve/seat? I'll remeasure tomorrow when I get back out there to be sure.

    Damn I love this bike...

    My bike as 27,000 miles on it and the valves have not strayed out of spec. I have nudged them from the tight side (such as your .2 exhaust valve) to mid spec (.25) but nothing major. I think they hold their adjustment quite well.

    They are big valves though, so I imagine extended high rpm would take it's toll and hammer them into the seats a bit, but I do not spend much time at 10,000 rpm.

      I raced my TLS for 3 years without a valve adjustment. I checked them once after 2 years of racing and they were within spec.

      Suzuki did an excellent job on the valve train of the TL's. I wish I wouldn't have gone with the Ferrea 1mm over intakes ..

          'Nuff said. I'm gonna button her back up and leave her this way until the winter at least.

          Enough messing around. It's been weeks since I've ridden the TL. I just wanna RIDE!

            i experienced the same thing. they settled in by the first adjustment.

            im now at about 60k...
