  • Single or Dual Filament Turn Signals?

I'm getting LP Flush Mount 3s for my TL1000S and I was wondering if I should get single or dual filment bulbs. Also, can anyone explain what the difference is?

    Thanks,
    Frank

Dual filament are for bikes that have the turn signals lit all the time and single is only lit when your using your blinker
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

The choice is yours depending upon the lighting you want. Typically a single filament is use in a turn signal application where a dual filament will have a running light (on with the ignition) as well as a turn signal. To use a dual filament you will have to wire in a switched hot as I believe most TL's are wired for single.

Gee, not sure about having the turn signals lit all the time...maybe for increased visibility but wouldn't it be somewhat big-rig-ish? Thanks for the info!

You can also parallel both filaments in a dual filament bulb so they are brighter when they flash.

AriNavy, that sounds really cool...I'd love them to flash brighter, but how do you do that?

On dual filament bulbs there are 3 wires coming out. One is ground and the other two are seperate positives for each filament (the package should say which color wire is which). All you have to do is wire the two positives together when you hook them up. Very simple.
