  • experience brake pulsating?

coming down from higher speeds i get an aweful chatter in the front of the bike, and brake lever. Went up and down w/ the preload and wasnt much of a difference. The rotors arent warped, im running bendix pads which arent to agressive but much better than stock and i cant figure out this nervewracking problem. At the Pocono FUSA track on saturday, it felt like the bike was going to split down the middle it was pulsating so bad, but only coming down from 110 mph + speeds. Anyone know of a solution, or possible cause. - Kevin

Is it only when your on the brakes, or whenever your just slowing from high speed. As the only thing I could think of was a warped disk, maybe they're not floating as they should. Maybe the rivets are too tight, but when the disks cool back down they straighten up. If it pulses at a rate in proportion to the speed your doing then I'd imagine its definatley something to do with the rotors or the wheel. Have you checked that the balance on the wheel or if the axle is ok...just a guess

I just solved this 4 days ago! It was the front wheel bearings. Change them!
Ask not what TLP can do for you, but what you can do for TLP.

thanks for the info guys.. yeah, it only happens during heavy breaking. bike started doing this at 2000 miles on the clock. dont thinm its something like bearings, or atleast i hope not. im gonna do the easy things first, start with a bleed job then move to other avenues, might go back to the wooden stock pads just to see if i can elimenate the pads from the equation. thanks again. - kevin
