  • surging...???

I don't know if it is just me...or that the humidity is higher than normal...or if I am just getting used to the TL...

But I am noticing that at a constant speed (say 35 mph) I feel like the bike is barely surging forward intermittently. It is very small and does not affect speed. The motor sounds the same and exhaust as well. It almost feels like the road, but I am sure it is not. I seem to notice lots of different tiny things on all of my vehicles that a "normal" person would not. So, I am wondering if this is one of those things or if I need to make a small tweek somewhere.

On a completely different subject, is anyone else annoyed that you cannot leagly open the TL up? I wish there was a track near by so I could get this durn speed/accelleration fix out of my system with out a ticket.

    Thanks!

I always get the surging at 3-4K RPM, no matter what gear. I'm gonna either try richening up the fuel mixture at lower RPMs or get a TRE to cure it.

That surging is her way off telling you that your going to slow and to open her up.

Boise is in Idaho...Idaho is not in the midwest...it is in the west.(most people confuse Idaho with Ohio).

We are all potato farmers here and most people still ride horses and wear 6-shooters at the hip. Well at least that is what people seem to think.

There is a large population of riders here in Idaho, and some of our mountain roads are featured in motorcycle mags. Lots of twisties available. But they are not too close to Boise...about 1 hr away.

Potatoes! The company I work for has just sold a potatoe grading machine (a bit different to the Apples and Citris we normally grade).

Wonder how long until we try and crack into the American market with one.

            (Potatoe, Potato :dunno)

The correct spelling is potato. Vice President Quaile made the mistake of spelling potato "potatoe" at some spelling bee for 4th graders. He never lived it down, and everybody tagged him as a moron. The sad thing is (not a cut on you at all) is that most people get confused because it is potatoEs...no big deal in my book. I suck at spelling.

The reason we are the potato state is JR Simplot (never graduated from high school let alone any other training) made some killer deals at a young age and now sells his potatoes to McDonnalds. He owns Ore-Ida which is a HUGE frozen french fry distributer and they sell other things as well. The really funny part is that there are more potatoes grown in Oregon that in Idaho. Also another stupid fact is that most all of the "good" Idaho russett potatoes are exported to NY and France and other places with fancy resteraunts. We get the runts of the crop. I allways really enjoy a good Idaho Spud when I go on vacation. Its the only time I get to have a "good" 'tater.

I know what you're saying, all our best fruit gets exported, so if you want some nice stuff, buy the imported stuff, they export their best too. Soon, it wont be chance you get a sweet or sour piece over here. We now have non-invasive sweetness testing, so sweetness can also be in the grading, so the best looking, sweetest bits get exported.

Simplot is big here too. They own four'n'twenty pies, our Aussie meat pies , along with quite a few other food companies.

Simplot is a funny guy. He used to eat at my friends diner. He was the cheapest guy...left the smallest tips (8%). He drives something like a 1988 brown Caddy...

He lives on a HUGE hill that can be seen from miles away, and his house is big but WAY out dated. People that live below him complane abot the flag he flies. It has to be the biggest flag ever made. The crack it makes when it is windy is like a sharp crip thunder clap. You can see the flag on the other side of the valley (20 miles) maybe not quite that far, but a LONG ways away. Funny how this thread turned into a current events thread...oh-well anything to get the count up!

Oh yeah! The surging! Could be the typical TL stumbles no? Try riding in a lower gear.

When I fitted a TRE to my bike, that fixed all that up, but the TRE results seem to differ between bikes.

It is hard to go to a lower gear when one is in 1st. I notice it when ever I am just putting along being boring...(normally it is me fighting the temptation to flick the wrist). This bike is pure evil...the only kind of bike for me!

You can go lower than 1st, get a bigger rear sproket

                          Ah...ha!

I think I am going to wait till I at least have the title in my name before I start making huge mods to her. I have officially had the TLS for 1 week and 1 day now. And it is raining...Grrrrr and I rode to work today. I knew it was most likely to rain, but I couldn't resist the call of the bike.

Oh well...I gotta get home some how. I guess I will just get wet.

after I remapped with a Yosh box the surging was much less noticable. Not gone, though. But if you have a pro do the remap, it'll be gone.
