  • 2002 TLR: 1040 big bore, carbon BSTs,ohlins

Ok here goes. She is for sale. No stories, no second guessing, just a great bike for sale. I dont have to sell it, but one yellow twin is enough for me 7500 USD. Bike currently has 11,841 miles. But about 2K on motor built by cooper performance. Bike has new battery, recent tune by evan steele performance, and recent fuel filter, oil and filter, plugs, and tank/pump gasket. i would welcome inspections, etc and would not be afraid to fly in and ride home. You will not be dissapointed with this bike. Please do not ask me about a part out. I want to sell her whole to someone that will enjoy her. Also be ready to be center of attention at any bike night as she draws alot of attention
    Upgrades include:

    1040 big bore with:
    +2mm spears pistons
    falicon billet clutch basket
    ported heads
    cryo frozen crank
    Web cams
    forged carillo rods

    Hyperpro steering damper
    Ohlins rear shock
06 gold Busa forks Race tech springs & gold valve kit

    galfer rotors
    PVM 4 piston rear caliper

Just curious, with all the mods done to the TL, how does it compare to the Ducati. Is the 1040 kit worth all the work, performance wise? I have always thought that you have one of the nicest TL's I have seen, very nice!

The jury is still out. I just took the Tiller for a spin and trying to do the same with the Ducati. I would say similar, but, I think(personal opinion here) that the Tiller pulls harder(like a train). But...and a big but here, the Duc is extremely smooth and refined power delivery wise. I need to have one of my riding buddies go out and do a side by side as I am very curious as well. As for brakes and suspension...I have never ridden anything with brakes like the DUC. The Tiller is second best for me there. Suspension...Not sure yet but I imagine after more saddle time the DUC will win here too.

Not sure what your tiller feels like suspension wise but the base model 1098 suspension is only mediocre. Go ride the s model and feel what a bike is supposed to feel like.

I would go buy one if I could talk myself into having a payment on something again.

My Tiller feels pretty damn nice but Ive still been trying to get the suspension dialed in for me. The difference to me is the way I am loaded onto the machine. On the Tiller...I feel like I am laying on top of the bike. On the DUC, I almost feel like part of the bike. As for having a payment...thats where I am at too. Feeling a bit guilty for adding an outflow to our budget for a second road bike. As an added bonus.. on the DUC, I can also take my wife for a ride as it has a rear seat and pegs

Nice Ride ... I am still looking for a TL, but yours is so modified. I think I want a stocker looking TL, and your TL looks stretched .... ?

Nope...stretching a bike like this would kill the reason for the carbon wheels.
